Antique

It is a word derived from the Latin adjective antiqueus meaning ‘old’. At first, it referred to only the old one, but after the 16th century, the meaning of ‘ancient times’ was included and began to be used as the meaning of ‘ancient art’. In the 18th century, when interest in ancient artworks was high, nobles built collection rooms in their homes. (See Naver Knowledge Encyclopedia.)

Something just old can be treated as an old-fashioned thing. However, antiqueness affects the times. The patterns and colors of each time affect countless people and objects. In general, there are colors or patterns suitable for each era, such as gold, cooper color, patterns in the shape of plants and animals, angels and goddesses, wine colors, or Turkish blue, which were widely used in the Middle Ages and Renaissance as well as the Greek and Roman periods.

In particular, the medieval patterns influence fashion and lifestyle, loved by many as ‘antique style’. The ‘antique’ items refer to items extremely feminine, old-fashioned, luxurious that have the power to move the heart. You can meet antique style with patterns in each age including Ancient Greece and Rome and the Renaissance through K-Paper cards.
